Accessibility statement

We want everyone to feel welcome here. This website is built so that as many people as possible can use it comfortably, whatever device they are on and however they prefer to browse. We aim to meet the WCAG 2.1 AA standard, and we treat that as a baseline rather than a finishing line.

What we have done

Accessibility has been part of how the site is put together, not something added at the end. Here are some of the things we have built in:

Semantic HTML with clear landmarks, so screen readers and other assistive tools can make sense of the page structure.
A menu you can move through using the keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline so you always know where you are.
Colours chosen for sufficient contrast, so text stays easy to read against its background.
Descriptive alt text on images, so the meaning comes across even when a picture cannot be seen.
A responsive layout that adapts to phones, tablets and larger screens.
Text that reflows and scales, so you can increase the size without losing content or having to scroll sideways.
Respect for the reduce motion setting, so animation is kept to a minimum if that is your preference.
